Cardiff String Quartet

Established in 2002, the Cardiff String Quartet is one of the finest, most experienced quartets in the region. In terms of musical quality, versatility and levels of service, the Quartet is a leader in its field. Our players are all handpicked professionals with a wealth of playing and recording experience.

All that talent wouldn’t mean a thing, however, without great customer service. From finding that obscure Metallica piece to liaising with the venue on the best place to sit, we’ve got it covered.

About Cardiff String Quartet

With well over 10 year’s experience, we’ve played in nearly every venue in South Wales and the West, so we know the people and the spaces and we can help you picture how the quartet can fit into your special day. As a good string quartet, we have the versatility to play any style you desire. Several styles convert very well into string quartet arrangements – jazz/swing, heavy metal, pop, ballads, and folk. We can also accompany the guests at churches for the hymn singing. Over the years, we’ve built up a vast repertoire of music, classical, film and jazz – but primarily, modern, contemporary music.

Why a String Quartet is a Perfect Addition to Your Wedding Reception

Looking for a way to add elegance and sophistication to your wedding reception? Consider hiring a string quartet! Their exquisite sound creates an unparalleled ambience, and their versatility makes them a perfect addition to any celebration. In this article, we’ll delve into why a string quartet is an ideal choice for your big day and how you can choose the right group for your needs.

The Beauty of a String Quartet.

A string quartet is a delicate, soothing ensemble consisting of two violins, a viola and a cello. Their performance creates a beautiful atmosphere that can set the tone for any occasion but is especially perfect for weddings. The elegant sound of their instruments will bring an emotional richness to the event that will impress you and your guests. The beauty of a string quartet lies in their harmonious ability to meld all four instruments into one sweet melodious sound that will enhance your wedding reception with elegance and grace.

Flexibility and Versatility in Song Selection.

One of the many advantages of hiring a string quartet for your wedding reception is their flexibility and versatility in song selection. Most string quartets have an extensive repertoire including everything from, classical music to modern pop hits, and this means that they can cater to a wide range of musical preferences and create a customized playlist that will appeal to everyone attending your wedding. You can choose songs that are special to you as a couple, or leave the selections up to the professionals who know how to set the perfect mood for any moment. With their ability to adapt to different musical styles, a string quartet is a perfect addition to any wedding reception, whether it’s a traditional ceremony or a non-traditional celebration.

Creating an Atmosphere of Elegance and Romance.

Hiring a string quartet for your wedding reception is one of the best ways to create an atmosphere of elegance and romance on your special day. The beautiful sound of four musicians playing together in harmony can fill the room with warmth, love, and joy. Whether you’re looking for a classic and sophisticated feel or a more modern vibe, a string quartet can provide the perfect background music for any occasion. From the pre-ceremony music to the first dance and beyond, a string quartet can set the tone for your entire wedding reception, leaving your guests feeling happy, relaxed, and entertained.

They provide smooth transitions between wedding events.

One of the reasons why a string quartet is a perfect addition to your wedding reception is that it can provide smooth transitions between wedding events. For example, during cocktail hour, a string quartet can play soft and soothing background music that helps guests relax and get in the mood for celebration. When it’s time for guests to move to the main reception area, the quartet can smoothly transition into more upbeat and energetic music that sets the tone for dinner and dancing. The quartet can also seamlessly transition from one special moment to another during the reception, such as playing soft background music during speeches or dedicating a song to the newlyweds during their first dance. With their versatility and talent, a string quartet can help make your wedding reception flow seamlessly from start to finish.

Adding a personal touch to your special day.

Adding a personal touch to your wedding day can make it even more memorable and special. One way to do this is by choosing customized music for your ceremony or reception. A string quartet can work with you to select pieces that hold special meanings for you and your partner or fit within a certain theme or mood. They can also arrange popular songs in their unique style, making them perfect for the occasion. Whether you want classical music, modern hits, or a combination of both, a string quartet can create an unforgettable soundtrack that reflects your personality and love story. By working closely with them, you can ensure that every moment of your wedding day is filled with beautiful music that resonates with you and your guests.

Reviews

Can honestly say that the quartet was one of the best parts of our wedding. Blending classical and rock as well as the sudden rush back in for the Star Wars cantina song. What can I say, 10 out of 10 would recommend purely for recreation as well as for official functions!

”Thank you so much for being part of our wedding day. We cannot praise the attitude and quality of your performance enough. The quartet was punctual, polite, impeccably presented and overall sounded incredible. They played prior to the ceremony during the guest’s arrival, brides entrance and drinks reception. They created a perfect atmosphere and really engaged with the guests. We would recommend them and would certainly have them perform again if the occasion presents. Forever grateful.
